.@nearuaguild released a new Request for Proposals (RFP) open for discussion.
The proposal suggests excluding validators that already control ≥1.00% of total network stake from receiving performance-based delegation.
Stop Meta Pool performance delegation to validators ≥1% stake on NEAR
What: Exclude validators that already control ≥1.00% of total network stake from receiving performance-based delegation. (DAO-voted delegations remain unchanged.)
Why:
- Performance routing to already-large validators reinforces concentration.
- A neutral, fee-agnostic 1% cap keeps Meta Pool from pushing stake toward whales and helps preserve/improve the Nakamoto Coefficient (NC).
- Post-inflation-reduction environment = tighter rewards; this guardrail avoids starving smaller validators.
Current data:
- Meta Pool performance currently on ≥1% validators: ~680,963 NEAR (policy-relevant pool to stop/redirect).
Call to action:
Draft is posted on the NEAR governance forum — jump in, critique, improve. If there’s rough consensus, we’ll start voting at the end of the week.
